This tour includes walks in romantic, old coastal towns of the Dalmatian Coast - Dubrovnik, Split, Sibenik, and Zadar - adventures in unspoiled canyons, and exploration of Dalmatian waterfalls and rivers. Shop for your picnic lunch at the lively town market in the morning before departing for the river. Your afternoons will be filled with the awe and wonder of the fascinating karst river canyons. Paddle and swim along the clear and warm waters of the Cetina, Krka, Zrmanja, and Krupa rivers. Stop for picnic lunches along the shores and enjoy the grandeur of these unique rivers and canyons. Rafts, canoes, or inflatable kayaks (depending on water level) will be used on easy and safe rapids under the competent instruction and supervision of your guide.

You will relax after daytime activities with an evening coffee or wine at one of the numerous sidewalk cafes along promenades. The unique architecture, life, culture and art of these distinct Dalmatian towns offer very pleasant walks and remember - this is Mediterranean. You stay out in the street long after dark. It’s a way of life.

Itinerary: Day 1: Upon arrival to Dubrovnik, transfer to your accommodations close to the Old City. Enjoy an evening of sightseeing or strolling along the promenade.

Day 2 : Discover the bustling Old City of Dubrovnik. A guided city tour is offered, or explore on your own. Enjoy the beach and swim in the clear, warm, blue waters of the Adriatic before dinner. Dubrovnik nights are perfect for walking along the city walls or relaxing on the Stradun promenade.

Day 3 : Transfer by mini bus (3 hours) to the Cetina Canyon, the mightiest of all Dalmatian rivers. After a lunch of grilled trout or meat at the Radmanove Mlinice (Radman's Mills - a favorite local weekend spot) you will enjoy great scenery and waterfalls while rafting and swimming.

The ancient town of Split and Diocletian's Palace (as well as your hotel) are less than one hour drive from the river.

Day 4 : After shopping at the lively Split market, return to Cetina's great canyon for a little more exciting white water and scenery. You will discover very romantic all-stone villages at the put-in and take-out and genuine Dalmatian homemade wine

Day 5 : In the morning, drive (1.5 hours) to Krka River National Park where canoes will take you through canyons of calm water to spectacular waterfalls. Over 250 different bird species live along the Krka river. Stop to explore the old Franciscan monastery on the island of Visovac.

In the late afternoon, visit the old town of Sibenik with its well known cathedral and museum. Continue to Zadar (1 hour drive) for overnight.

Day 6 : After breakfast drive to Zrmanja and Krupa rivers, very clear and warm, easy for paddling between the beautiful waterfalls (which we will walk around). Evening and overnight in Zadar.

Day 7 : Drive to Plitvice Lakes National Park (2 hours) - a chain of 16 lakes on different levels and hundreds of waterfalls connecting each. The rest of the afternoon is free for exploring these magnificent falls and lakes on foot.

Day 8 : In the morning, transfer to Zagreb. Departure from Zagreb airport.

All other dates upon request. Kayaks or Sea Kayaks available upon request.
